To establish the concept of “strong research institute", our college adhere to the basic idea of coordinated development of teaching and scientific research, creation, scientific research achievements. In order to serve the discipline construction, personnel training, cultivating interdisciplinary integration research environment, to research for the status of creation of a brand, making influence, our college focuses on China's most important Midwest in the study of art and the creation of the national important highland.

The Arts College now has

Five research institutions:

1) The Ministry of education

2) The key research base of Humanities and Social Sciences

3) The Institute of Chinese popular culture

4) The Institute of fine arts, the Institute of environmental art,

5) The Institute of visual arts, and the Institute of new art.

Two Bases:

1) The 2 base is the interaction between cultural heritage and culture "985 Project"

2) The innovation base of philosophy and Social Sciences (Ministry of Education), and the basic talents training and scientific research base of National Liberal Arts.
